As a Mac user myself, I know this is frustrating. The macros are critical to exploiting the Datalogger's functionality and we've not been able to work out how to do these things without macros.
The way I got around this was to keep the earlier version of Excel installed on my Mac to run the Datalogger (you can have both versions of Excel installed on your computer at the same time). The good news is that the upcoming version of Office for Mac will re-instate macros in Excel.
If none of this helps, you could try this much simpler Excel datalogger:
Macro-free Excel spreadsheet to timestamp observations (xls format)
Inevitably, this lacks a lot of the functionality of the main Datalogger but it does allow you to add timestamps to your observations.

Hi - I'm trying the datalogger for the first time and for some reason it will only display five tasks on the participant sheets even though I've got 12 tasks - and the documentation says it can handle 50. What am I doing wrong ;o)
If you have 12 tasks entered and only 5 showing, it sounds like you need to click the save changes button on the task page. That should solve it.

Any chance that you will update this for Mac users running MS Office 2008? Macros do not work for this version of Excel and instead must use Applescripts.
